Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Yesterday I reminded everyone about my secret contest, and gave out a little hint. Actually, it must have been a big hint, because in hardly the time it takes to say Super Secret Giveaway, someone came up with the correct answer.
Before I announce the winner, I must say how much I enjoyed your comments yesterday. I especially liked those who said I was entertaining, or funny, or positive. Thank you! Bonus points to Claudia, who claimed I was a 'freakin' genius'. I love you. No bonus points to Becca, who asked if it was that I was whiny. Thanks for noticing. I love you anyway. But MAJOR EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS POINTS to Sue, who said, AND I QUOTE, "Every time you write you reach another level of rock star status?" Hey, Sue? You might be my favorite.
Yes, most of my blog titles are musical in nature. They are usually song titles, in fact. Congratulations to Joanie from Joanie's Random Ramblings, who was the first to comment on it.
I started doing this a while ago, partly because it can be hard to come up with a snappy title for a blog post. There are zillions of songs out there, all with perfectly good titles for me to steal. It's become a sort of trivia game that I play in my own head. I write the post, and then try to think of a song that fits. Oh, the myriad ways I devise to amuse myself!
Joanie - send me your address (via email) and I'll send you your super secret prize. I'm not going to announce what it is, because the prize for my 100th post contest is probably going to be the same thing, and I don't want to ruin the surprise.
I love music, and there's almost always a song running through my head while I'm doing other things. It's kind of like my own personal soundtrack. It runs the gamut - classics to current. I kept track of some of the songs I either listened to on my Ipod, or sang to myself yesterday while I was doing my household chores, and they included Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, Jason Mraz, Abba, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Carpenters, Queen and Norah Jones. My musical tastes are eclectic, I guess, but so is my life. I have a lot going on in my head - it takes a lot of different songs to accompany me.

HA! Cool! I got home from my study group last night and read your post with the (non)hint, and it was just more thinking than I could do at that time of night (7:45). BWAHAHAHA! Seriously, I would not have the creativity to even think about your blog title posts being song titles; yet, I probably know all the songs! Real boring brain on this end. :)
I'm the same way with the soundtrack in my head, and my musical tastes are as eclectic as yours; sometimes I want Led Zeppelin, sometimes Glenn Miller, and then there are times that only Bobby Rydell will do (Oh, wild one--be wild about me). I'm not in the car all that much but when I am, I listen to a station that plays different music than all the others--but it's stuff I remember from way back. Sometimes they'll hit on a song that makes me think, "hey, I remember that!" and that's usually when I post it on my blog, thanks to YouTube. Kinda keeps it interesting, which I'm not so much lately.
Anyway, very cool idea you had there.
Ok, I don't think I ever caught on to that one, lol
You are some clever!!
Hallie
Just shows how ignorant about song titles I am! I spent ages looking at the titles because I was sure the answer lay in them... Ah well, I enjopy yhr eposts any way. And whiny - how dare she!
Love it. Didn't guess it, but I sure do get it. I include song lyrics alot in my posts. Sometimes I think they explain things better than I can. :)
Actually, I noticed a while back that you often titled your posts with song titles. It was just a matter of looking at your archive list!
Thanks for the prize! Snail mail addy on the way!
I think Jason Mraz is my new favorite artist! "Lucky to be in love with my best friend." Ah, that song just talks to me!
Way to go Joanie!!!
Good for Joanie to figure it out! When I called you a rock star, I had no idea about your song titles. See, you just upped your status once more!
Congrats to Joanie! ME...you are brilliant! When is your next non-contest????

That's very cool! And I'm so impressed that someone got it. I would NEVER have known -- I'm good just remembering book and movie titles. Song titles are completely beyond me, even when they're part of the lyrics. Sad but true.
Congrats to the winner Joanie...Darn, I missed out on this fun contest because I have been so busy lately !!! Some of your post titles are my fav songs too !
but it's a melodious whine....right???;-)
What a cool idea! How clever of you. :) I wonder if it would be harder to have a song title in your head and try to write a blog around it...
P.S. Winner Takes It All is one of my most favorite Abba songs. You should definitely see Mamma Mia if you have the chance!
That's impressive; I can never think of song titles. Very creative.
I always have songs running through my head too...fun way to be creative with post titles...congrats to Joanie!
