So Rare

That most elusive of creatures - a teenager with a smile on his face. It's what I have to keep me going these days. That's his friend Stryder with him. He has one brown eye and one blue eye, and is part of the Lord of the Rings litter (littermates include Frodo, Rohan, Gimli, Legolas, and Arwin. You should see the kids roll their eyes when someone mistakenly thinks we said Leg-less; I mean, who would name their dog legless? Unless he was, obviously. And even then.)

He reminds me of Mario Lopez in this pic. Slater from Saved by the Bell. Cute pic.

Cute son! He looks like a happy young man.
The potential name of the dog reminds me of a conversation I had with a middle-schooler in my neighborhood. He told me that his neighbor's dog was named "Tripod." I asked if that was because the owner was a photographer. The boy looked at me as if I had two heads and said, "No, it's because he only has three legs."
So weird names can happen.

ME, I sense a bit of melancholy in this post. What gives, girlie? No need for upside down smile when you have these two gorgeous creatures in your life. They are both handsome devils, who can surely rock your world in the blink of an eye. So let's get to it. Get out there and share a cremee with these two. Extra sprinkles, of course!

I'm sort of a LOTR nerd and I laughed out loud over the Leg-less thing.

That's a very cute boy--er--GUY and I love the dog!

Boys and dogs...there is something wonderful and almost mystic about that kind of companionship and love !

That is a very rare, but awesome picture! Glad you got a picture of it to prove that it does happen.

Cute doggy! I love the LOTR names too.

We have a Gimli and a Samwise. How pathetic are we?!?!

Great picture. How did you get him to smile? Mine won't. Just wondering if you had a secret.

So cute!
We actually have a horse with one brown eye and one blue eye. Maybe they are related! Ha!

and what a good looking guy he is!

Love the Lord of the Rings theme!

Leg-less? Legolas would be devastated to hear the mispronunciation!

Nice catch! Why is it that teens, boys and girls both, feel the need to scowl, frown and/or grimace whenever there is an adult or camera around?

Your young man looks so very relaxed and at ease. You must have gotten this photo after he had filled his belly with one of his favorite meals.
And they say that dogs can help reduce blood pressure... maybe they also induce a smile.

Thanks for sharing.

What no Pippin? I am sure you remember that is what Tom named our first dog. :)
Alex is just as handsome now as he was adorable when he was little. You are a lucky mom - and he is a lucky son to have you as a mom.
I think if I had a dog without legs, I would name him somethink like Rollie (because he would obviously have to roll to get around!) :) See you soon.

The teenager is beautiful (I KNOW he is a boy - he is beautiful anyway!) and Stryder was my first ever hero. I met him in a book at the age of 12 and to date no man has stood a chance. I think I'd like the dog too.
