Aim low

I think I've just figured out that if your ambitions are especially low, you have a much better chance at making them happen.

Yesterday, my only goals were:

1. Not to die (Totally nailed this one, although my loved ones tell me I look like death. They're nothing if not supportive.)

2. Try every single remedy suggested to me by my really smart, medically experienced blog commenters. (I almost nailed this one. I think I tried all but one, and it was only because when I found out how much this one medicine cost, I almost had a stroke.)

3. Read some of the blogs that I'm getting so far behind in reading. (I got through about half of my favorite blogs, and it made me feel better, even though I was getting dizzy toward the end.)

4. Think of something to blog about, and type it. (SCORE! I know this isn't exactly Shakespeare, but in my condition, I think it's pretty impressive.)

5. Figure out how to prop myself up just right so that I can sleep and not cough. (Almost mastered this one, and actually slept for an hour and a half. At one time. Why is it that if you ever finally get to sleep, when you haven't slept for a long, long time, and you really need to sleep, that the cats suddenly decide to chase each other around you in a circle like a herd of wild freaking elephants? They are so lucky I don't own a gun.)

Today my plan is to do all of the above, and add: Take a shower.

Baby steps. It's all baby steps.

Awww, man, ME! I think that list is rather impressive, considering I HEARD how you sounded before you even got really sick! I could SO related to the cats/herd of elephants chasing around; mine do the same thing. I just cannot figure out how two small creatures can sound like that!

If I was there I would bring you homemade organic chicken soup and Bigelow Lemon Lift tea with honey drizzled in it. Since you have asthma issues, I don't know how it would work for ya, but it sure couldn't hurt.

Get better soon, my friend...so we can talk!

Yup, I was mentally going along with you, until I read the list. Didn't seem all that low to me!

I say "take the shower first!" Also, just stand there in the hot water for a long time. Use all the hot water up before your "caring" men get in. That will teach them to tell you you look like death!
FEEL BETTER!!!!

Get your ass up and get better. Stop all this lolling around. I miss my friend and feel totally neglected. And that is unacceptable.

You told me talking on the phone hurts so I haven't called but that's not sitting well with me either. You should think about someone else before making these grand I CAN'T CHAT decisions.

Plus Vick is trying to get us together to do some AI watching - how the hell can we do that if you are purposely staying sick?

WTF?

ME...you have so much going on, it is no wonder you are down for the count...and staying down. Sometimes our bodies (and minds) just scream "UNCLE"! You'll be you, when you are ready!

Have you been checked out by a doctor ? I'm worried you are not getting better !

Last time I was sick November, I had to finally break down and go, and it turned out I had a horrible case of bronchitis,my brain wasn't getting enough oxygen, my pulse was very low and that if I had let go much longer, I would have ended up in the hospital ! I'll never wait that long again to go to the doctor...

Hmmm...I have to agree with Lynn, going to the doctor CAN be a hassle, but it may just be what the doctor ordered, I mean what the bloggers ordered.
I hope you get to feeling better soon. I don't like that you are so sick!

I was beaten to my 'wise words' by Airman Mom - so I'll simply say I endorse what she said! Get well soon.

This post made me laugh. I hope you accomplish ALL your goals today. Although, since most of us only know you through the computer...we'll forgive the shower part.

Feel better!

Hope you're feeling better soon. I'm definitely coming down with something. Felt it starting yesterday, so I feel I'm on the cusp of adopting some of these goals today, too!

I agree with the last commenter-things can only go up from here!
Sorry you're still feeling ill, but kick the cats outside, take some drugs, and sleep!

When I had the stomach bug a few weeks ago mine played "12 Ring Circus" on the bed. It wasnt pleasant with the motion sickness and all!

Hope you feel better soon! I am so glad I was a lucky winner in your read until dizzy blog reading fest!

My goodness, you are hysterical! Aim low, yes. I'm going to add #1 to my list daily so that I can say I accomplished at least one thing that day.

My fingers are crossed for that letter you recently sent. I'm really hoping for a happy ending here.

And feel better soon, okay? Thank you so much for your recent visit and sweet comments.

I like your list. Maybe if I make a list like that for myself each day, I won't feel like my day was a waste. I did make accomplishments! :)

I hope you feel better soon. It sucks being so sick.
