Take Two Blogs and Call Me in the Morning

Well, I survived another day. And, you'll be happy to learn that I did take a shower. I even went to the store for supplies. Of course, when I got home, I collapsed, but still, it's progress, right?

I really appreciate all the good advice about what remedies work best for you. I really am feeling just a little bit better, even though Hallie told me I sounded like crap (thanks, sweetie, I love you, too!). She also told me that I needed some tough love and that you all were being WAY TOO NICE TO ME.

I beg to differ. The people in my house do not care if I am sick. They probably don't even notice that I am sick until there are no clean clothes or dishes or food. Now, before you get all mad at them, I have to say that this is my own fault. I have conditioned them to expect that I will forge ahead, taking care of everyone and everything, regardless of my own mood, health or attitude. If I point out that I am sick and need their help, they'll provide it. They just won't think to OFFER it. And my Catholic upbringing causes me to suffer in SILENCE. Pathetic? Maybe, but I can't help myself.

So, your well wishes and good advice and kind comments are COMPLETELY APPROPRIATE not to mention really appreciated!

I finally am almost caught up on my bloggy friends. Reading about what's going on in your world has made mine brighter. Some of you are also sick, and I send you my warmest wishes for speedy recoveries, and this advice: Drink lots of fluids, rest, and read blogs. It'll make you feel better.

Just had to toss me under the bus huh? What you failed to mention is that I tried the tough love approach THINKING that it might be just the medicine you need...since I miss my healthy friend. Plus, really....how much sappy, we'er praying for you crap does one person need? :)

I suppose now I can expect a visit from the WE LOVE MARY ELLEN AND HAVE COME TO KICK YOUR NON SUPPORTIVE ASS EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T KNOW HER LIKE YOU DO AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHE TRULY NEEDS lynch mob.

Thank God I have an angry wiener I can let loose on them!!

(who loves ya babe?)

I've been following along with your misery... I'm never one with any great remedies aside from a hot bath and sleep.

Being the mom often means no one to take care of you- and you are still expected to take care of everyone! But do speak up... if you need something, give your family the chance to take care of you!

wow your life mirrors mine... I had the long conversation with martha (5 minutes) yesterday on how sick I am still cause her young butt is all better and how I would so love for her to look around and SEE what needs to be done then DO IT... this was as i was washing dishes and mopping the kitchen and really just wanted her to vaccume. sigh... she did eventually vaccume since i threatened to do it myself and guilted her into it.

Hallie... one can never have too many praying for you craps as you put it :) so I hope your praying booty is steady praying as you sic your angry wiener on us LOL.

I do believe a shower will feel great today provided I dont fall over cause now I have total ear involvement in this round of sickness... blah blah blah....

onward to read more blogs... excellent therapy I say!
HUGSSSS a sick peach pit :)

you could convert to being Baptist. We announce loudly that we are sick and need help. Usually in the form of "prayer request."

:)

Glad you're on the mend!

I am not one bit surprised that the people in your house do not notice that you are sick; after all, you do live with testosterone vessels. Don't you just love that, "testosterone vessels"? I read it on another blog and immediately thought of you. As for that Hallisicle, I think her testosterone vessels are rubbing off on her and turning Hallisicle into an icicle!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously, I am so glad you're at least feeling like you might live. And thank you for making me laugh with your comment. Even through all of your sickfulness, you still make me laugh!

Leaving you now so I can go leave Hallisicle an Anonymous/Kim snarky comment. BWAHAHAHA. I just love all of you Maine people.

Come there. I want to.

Seriously blog reading is sometimes the best thing when you are sick. Usually you get a few giggles too.

I have been fighting strep all week and when my household asks for "fill in the blank" (food, clean clothes, etc.) all I say is "I'm sick. I'm not doing anything." They look at me as if I have two heads.

Glad to hear you're on the mend

By no means should you come ANYWHERE NEAR Tee's house childcare right now. You would have a relapse.

Parents are morons. Children are brought with fevers, runny noses (not drips, RUNS)...

And then they blame their child's sickness on "my kid's daycare.."

!?#?@?!?*!&!??!?

I read a ton of blogs when I was sick last time...it is such good medicine while you're recovering !

I hope the steam from your shower helped you out. Sometimes just getting the funk off your body helps you to feel better. That and clean sheets on the bed.....zzzzzzz

That's the best.

Of course, you'll probably be the one that has to change the sheets...

Just sayin'.

Hi Mary Ellen. I just found your blog and cracked up reading your tire story. Don't you hate stuff like that ! I had a tire story on my blog, too, if you dare to check it out. You have to scroll down until you see a rather large photo of a tire.....Diff between your story and mine, mine cost over $800 !!!!
Hope you feel better.

When you are done mending you can go and kick arse at Halliesicle's house for being mena in the name of she knows you better therefore she knows how to make you well.
I vote for tender loving care...not tough love!

You are WOMAN! That's what we have to do with the family. If we don't do it, it won't get done. Now when the house is empty and everyone is gone to school, work, etc. you take that time for yourself and pamper yourself, do no house work. It will all be there tomorrow to do again! Hey I appreciate you. Been there!!!

Hope you're feeling better. I'm still fighting this thing and should be napping, but I'm taking your suggestion and slowly making my way through blogs instead!

kim-d said...

Okay, ME. Enough. Enough of the sickness. Get back here and blog. A LOT! Why, you may ask?

BECAUSE I MISS YOU! I MISS YOU SO DARN MUCH, and we have not discussed "Blind Faith" yet! I NEED you; your adoring public needs you.

Come back, Mary Ellen, come back!

I BESEECH YOU!

And I'm pretty damn good at beseeching; just ask Hallisicle.
