My Favorite Things

I'm dieting (again) so, of course, I'm food-obsessed. I think about food way too much, but I can't help myself, so I thought I'd make you all suffer with me. I made a list of 10 of my favorite foods, and here they are, with pictures!

My favorite nut - not including my kids - is the pistachio. They're like crack to me. Once I start, I can't stop chomping their nutty goodness.

The KING of snack foods: The Ring Ding. Chocolate cake, creme filling, covered in dark chocolately yumminess. Even more delicious from the refrigerator. And hockey-puck shaped, to boot. What's not to love?

White chili. I make this, and it's one of my most requested bring-alongs (when a dessert is not required). It's made with chicken and cannelini beans, and is amazingly chili-like, even without the beef and tomato sauce. Sprinkle a little monterey jack cheese on top and voila!

What can I say? Dark chocolate. Creamy mint filling. Oh, how I love thee.

My new fave lunch choice. Garlic Chicken White Pizza Lean Pockets. Two minutes in the microwave, and lunch is ready!

Coffee. With cream. No sugar. I gave up caffeine many years ago, but really good decaf, with real cream or half and half (not milk!) makes me so, so happy. I found that, if you're going decaf, you have to splurge on the good stuff.

Seafood. All of it, especially shellfish. I was lucky enough to grow up on the coast of Maine, where seafood is still pretty cheap and plentiful. Melt me some butter, and all you'll hear after that is me, moaning with pleasure. Sometimes I even purr.

Freshly picked strawberries. Nothing like it. Can't wait for July to get here.

Coffee chip ice cream (or mocha chip). The important thing is that it's coffee ice cream with dark chocolate chips. To die for.

Hands down the best cereal ever. Sometimes, when I'm trying to avoid eating all that bad stuff I just listed, I eat a bowl of mini wheats for a snack.

Well, there you have it. The foods that I love. Tune in tomorrow for a list of foods I hate!

Mmmm...all of it! I LOVE coffee ice cream! That's the one ice cream I like that doesn't need to have a bunch of add-ins, although it is good with a handful of those blanched Virginia peanuts tossed in! That chicken chili looks really good; for a while now I have been making mine with chicken but it still has the tomato base. And I love Life cereal the best, but Frosted Mini-Wheats are #2--at work, I snack on them.

I, too, am food-obsessed. Always. No wonder I look the way I do; seriously! I know my weight problem is undoubtedly the result of some deep-seated emotional issues because "they" always say it's not about the food. But I honestly do think that, for me, it IS at least partly about the food. In that I LOVE it!!!

Can't wait to see which ones you hate because I think I would be hard-pressed to come up with 10 things I hate! :)

The strawberries can stay in your "diet", so at least you have one fave available to you!

Lobster would go first for me. Followed by lobster. And then, maybe, shrimp, but then followed closely with lobster.

I have been craving white chili for forever. I think I actually have the ingredients for it in my house (for a change!) and think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight.

Oh, can I have the chili recipe? I love chili but I'm not a huge fan of canned tomatoes in it. This looks perfect!

Right there with you on the diet. Just don't call it a "Lifestyle Change" to me or someone's gonna get hurt.

Oh yea! Frosted Mini Wheats. I'll share all of my food with the girls (share, since they can buy their own), but back off the Mini Wheats!
Actually, I am with Kim-D...I love it all! And that is why I look the way I do! Wait though, I am not especially fond of liver.
I have to get back with my "diet" I got bored with it.
Love ya girl!

Oh, do I love pistachios!
Fortunately, DH doesn't, so I don't have to share!

Fun post...why does everything so bad have to taste so good? At least you have a few healthy things thrown in to even things out.

I love ice cream. I will eat just about any flavor of Ben & Jerry's. The whole pint. And, I have a hard time sharing :)

yum-yum! Right now I love ALL food. Except Italian (which I LOVED before I was pregnant). Go figure. :)

I'm dieting, too. It's way too hard to do. Used to be able to drop 5 pounds in 5 minutes. No more.
Try the Simply Smart 'cream' for coffee. I can't tell the diff between that and real cream.
Can we have the recipe for white chili?????
Good Luck.

Now I am starving. Good thing I have Bite Size Froasted Mini Wheats in the pantry and strawberries in the fridge (gotta love living near where they can grow them year round!) And I am having a clam bake this weekend, I just decided. And thank you for ending the debate I had with myself. I kept wondering why the Ding Dongs weren't doing it for me lately, seemed too dry, not enough cream. I think because all these years I have loved RING DINGS, not DING DONGS. There is a difference. :)

I could deal with about 2 or 3 of the things you mentioned. :)
