Baby, It's Cold Outside

Well, yesterday I managed to get my amended birth certificate, which I will have to show in order to get my original birth certificate. To get it, I had to drive to Biddeford, which is about an hour and a half's drive from my house. When I left home, the skies were cloudy. About five minutes into the journey, it started to snow. By the time I got to City Hall, Town of My Birth, it was snowing hard and the roads were awful. The drive home seemed to take forever. When I pulled into my driveway at home and got out of the car, every one of my muscles was clenched.

If you live in a northern, snowy and cold climate, you know what it's like. If you live in a southern, warm and sunny climate...you suck. Oh, no - I mean, you are so lucky! I needed to find my sense of humor about winter. After I got home, I went online to check on all my bloggy friends, and I found a post that made me laugh. Laugh so hard. Laugh until I was crying. And it was exactly what I needed.

One of my friends is a writer, a blogger and one of the wittiest people I know. You may recognize his name from his clever comments on mine and Hallie's blogs. If you have some time (and you'll need it...this post is NOT short), click the link below. I promise it will be well worth it. As you're reading, keep in mind that however bad things get, you can always laugh (or at least get your friends to laugh at you!)

And if you laughed,
feel free to let Andy know how much you enjoyed his misery...

Hallie, can I have the decoder ring for that comment? I don't understand it.

It's a girl thing, isn't it? You're talking to MET in special girl language about me. That's SO 80s.

I WISH it would snow here. It's just cold and rainy and that's how we spend MOST of our winter. It sucks.

Great job with the gift certificate!

Ok, so I followed your link and forgot to come back. Sorry!

We were supposed to get D.U.M.P.E.D on on Monday but it barely fluffed. Then it was supposed to blow all over yesterday so they called off school.

It was sunny, and nice.

I want dumped on and no where to go kind of snow!

YAY on the preparedness of the Birth Certificate - sorry the drive was icky!

We rarely get enough snow to cause problems but the ice is awful. I'm clenching right now just thinking about it...and i'm not just talking hands ;)

I spent last weekend slipping and sliding around trying to get my volunteer work finished and get my daughter to and from work. Today...rain, changing to sleet/snow and of course DD has to work again tonight. If we didn't live so far away from any towns it wouldn't be too bad, but round trip is at least 30 miles if we are just going somewhere close.

I moved to Vegas for exactly all those reasons regarding a snowy climate. And I don't miss it! :)

I will definitely be reading that post, thanks! I do the same thing when I drive in weather by the way. I was not made for this climate.
